Import reviews from 1688 to your Shopify store

To add 1688 reviews to a Shopify product, open the 1688 listing in Chrome, click the Editorify extension, select reviews and import them. 1688 is a Chinese wholesale site, so reviews arrive in Chinese unless you translate the page first. Importing from 1688 needs Premium ($9.95/month) or a higher plan; the Free plan covers AliExpress only.

How 1688 differs from other suppliers

1688 is built for businesses buying in bulk inside China. Reviews are usually short, and many are about a whole batch: whether the carton arrived intact, whether the count was right, how fast the factory shipped. Very few of them help a retail shopper. Expect to import fewer reviews per product than from a consumer marketplace, and choose the ones that say something about quality or finish.

Install the Editorify Chrome extension.
Open the 1688 product page you want to import reviews from and let it load fully.
Click the Editorify icon in the Chrome toolbar.
Select the reviews you want to import.
Choose the Shopify product the reviews should go to.

Filter before you publish

Premium includes a star filter and a keyword blacklist. Use the blacklist to hide reviews that mention the factory or shop name. If the same item appears in your store as several products, you can copy reviews to multiple products instead of importing twice.

Both are Chinese-language sites. 1688 sells wholesale to businesses, Taobao sells to consumers. The Editorify steps are the same for both.

Can I edit a badly translated review?

No. Reviews cannot be edited after import; you can hide or delete them. Translate before importing.
